Education

A pillar of the museum's mission is to educate our community about the past present & future of the automobile.  We have put emphasis on building programs that aim to help us fulfill our pursuit of that mission.

School Tours

We welcome all schools both large and small to come visit our museum. Please check out our lineup of school tour programs to find the best activity for your group’s age and interest level. Our docents can also customize your tour to meet time limits, grade levels, and special accommodations.

We are proud to offer school programs aligned with the Common Core Standards and California State Content Standards. The museum is open for school tours year round, so there is never a bad time to motor on down for a fun and educational field trip that will explore the automobile history.

Classes

The California Automobile Museum offers a wide variety of classes; from Model T driving to muscle car tune ups. For more information on any of these classes, or to request notification for future scheduling, write to director@calautomuseum.org.

To reserve a group tour, please fill out and submit the reservation form for group tours. Tours can be docent-led, self-guided, or with a scavenger hunt. Your reservation will be sent to Museum staff, who will contact you about your reservation.

Groups must have a minimum of 10 individuals, be booked at least two weeks in advance, and be a single payment to secure the group rate. A 50% deposit is required to reserve the date and time of the tour and is refundable up until 72 hours prior to the scheduled tour.
