Students of the Docent program are acquainted with the Museum; the history of the automobile; the world automobile industry and its entrepreneurs; the cars in the Museum; the automobile’s influence on our lives; and how to interestingly present these topics to visitors of all ages.

The twenty-ninth Docent Class for the California Automobile Museum began on Thursday, January 9, 2014, and continues each Thursday through May 15, 2014. Thursday classes start promptly at 6:00 PM and usually end between 9:30 and 9:45 PM. This class includes two day trips to other Museums and a few weekend training sessions.

Docent Course Outline 2014

The fee for the course is only $99.00, which covers the cost of your training materials, your docent badge, and a one-year membership to the California Automobile Museum. Scholarships are available under special circumstances.

For qualifying docents to give tours, trained professionals will acquaint new docent classmen and women with the Museum; the history of the automobile, the world automobile industry and its entrepreneurs; the cars in the Museum; the automobile’s influence on our lives and times; and how to interestingly present these topics to visitors of all ages.
