Special Corvette Display Planned At Museum

The California Automobile Museum will have a special display of the six generations of "America's Sports Car," the Corvette, leading up to the 1st Annual Vettes for Vets all-Corvette car show and community event on Sunday, November 7th. From 11/01/10 to 11/07/10 there will be unique examples of each of the six generations of Corvette. This special exhibit will include an original un-restored 1954 roadster with only 68,000 miles on its clock; a beautiful “Silver Pearl” 1966 coupe with a wonderful race history and the lore of changing hands in a poker game before being restored to its original glory; a NCRS Top Flight Award winning 1969 big block coupe with another unique history and set of accessories that are only seen on historic Corvettes like the ones given to Apollo astronauts; a 1995 King of the Hill ZR1 with its unique and powerful drive train; a rare 2003 ZO6 in a unique color scheme and only 3,000 miles on its odometer; and finally, but far from least, will be a new 2011 C6 on loan from Woodland Motors to finish up the time line for the six generations of Corvettes. Then after a week on display on the Museum’s main floor, these 6 special cars will be joined on November 7th, rain or shine, by 200 to 300 of their sister Corvettes for the 1st Annual Vettes for Vets all-Corvette show.
