Why donate to the California Automobile Museum?
We need fresh exhibit vehicles. Change is important to maintain public interest; therefore we are constantly seeking new donations for exhibit. Do you have a restored classic or nice original you feel is Museum quality or could help tell the story of the history of the automobile? You can share your gem with the public and receive a tax deduction. You will get a tax deduction for full the appraised value of your classic. Some cars may even see road duty on our “Road Crew” community outreach program.
Support the museum with you tax deductible gift. Do you have a vehicle that is newer or not museum quality but you would still like to help? Vehicle sales are the Museum's primary revenue stream, helping to keep the Museum open for future generations. So if you have a vehicle to donate, both you and the Museum can benefit! Unlike most other charities, we sell the cars ourselves, with no middle man, so 100% of the proceeds from the sale of donated vehicles go directly to the Museum.
The vehicle’s selling price is your tax deduction, so the higher prices we are able to obtain for your car for mean higher tax deductions for you. We sell all of our higher quality cars on eBay and other online sites where we have a reputable presence with excellent feedback ratings, making buyers feel more secure in their purchases.
We accept donations of vehicles in any condition. We will even provide transportation if necessary. Vehicles will then be prepared for sale and retailed at the Museum. You will receive a receipt and the Museum will do all DMV paperwork to transfer title and IRS paperwork to claim a tax deduction.
