As an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit institution, we rely on our generous donors to help make ends meet. By supporting the Annual Fund, you help provide the critical funding necessary for a project we hope to accomplish each year.
Did you know that ticket sales and memberships only account for 20% of the Museum’s operating costs?
It is because of that fact that we must depend on individuals like you to support us through charitable contributions. For over 20 years, we have been part of the Sacramento Community and your continued support ensures that we continue this tradition for generations to come.
For 2012, our Annual Fund Project is hiring a professional grantwriter. We believe that funds invested in grantwriting will be an investment that will pay high dividends for our future. Our Museum is growing up. We’re adding programs, seeing more people than ever, and looking to move to a new home. We’ve been moderately successful in the past with smaller grants from private foundations, but we realize it’s time to step up our game. With that in mind, we would like to hire a professional grantwriter.
This will be an investment. If we raise $10,000 to hire a contract grantwriter, he or she may be able to turn that into $100,000 or more, during the year. We believe that’s a great return, and especially going into a new home campaign, we’re going to need those dollars.
Some projects that will likely be the best candidates for grants include funding bus transportation for students whose school districts can no longer afford it, auto restoration classes for young adults, library improvement, and capital projects. So we’re asking you to partner with us in that investment.
