Whether you are a design fan or novice, this class is sure to impress. Adults will learn from our resident expert on automotive design about the tools designers and companies used, as well as important styling trends used throughout the history of the car. Then the student can try to design their own car in clay. Will your car be classic, modern, or unlike anything else seen before?

Geared towards high school students, this class is taught by the CSU Sacramento student organization, Hornet Racing! These college students develop their engineering skills through management of a competitive racing team, and they want to share their knowledge with you! Learn what it is like to be an engineer and the inside workings of what it takes to build a race car from scratch. Students can see one of Sac State’s race cars and will build a motorized toy car in a group in the class.

The twenty-ninth Docent Class for the California Automobile Museum will begin on Thursday, January 9, 2014, and continue each Thursday through May 15, 2014. Thursday classes start promptly at 6:00 PM and usually end between 9:30 and 9:45 PM. This class includes two day trips to other Museums and a few weekend training sessions.

This hands-on workshop is designed for those cars of the 1960s and 1970s. Topics include technical service tips on the cranking systems, engine condition, ignition and advance, base timing, fuel system performance tests and service tips. The class also includes information on parts resources for muscle cars. Students are encouraged to bring their muscle car to class so they can perform tune-up tests and adjustments directly on their vehicle.
