Come out and enjoy the sun gleaming off the gorgeous cars In Vettes for Vets & American Muscle!
Come out and enjoy the sun gleaming off the gorgeous cars at Vettes for Vets & American Muscle on Memorial Day 10 am – 3 pm. Monday, May 26th will be a great day of sunshine and memorial for our veterans who will enjoy a 50/50 raffle, hot delicious food, FREE museum admission, and an up-close look at the Bell UH-1 Iroquois “Huey” helicopter. Veterans and spectators can enjoy the glorious car show for FREE in the parking lot south of the Museum, so bring the whole family!
A great addition to this car show is that everyone who joins us will get to see a real military helicopter up-close and even get to climb inside! The Bell UH-1 Iroquois, unofficially “Huey”, is a military helicopter powered by a single, turbo shaft engine, with a two-bladed main rotor and tail rotor. The helicopter was developed by Bell Helicopter to meet the United States Army’s requirement for a medical evacuation. The display of this helicopter is made possible by Chapter North of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association (CCN-VHPA).
To add to the fun, veterans will receive FREE admission to the museum with their DD214, VA card, picture proving military service, etc. Current exhibits include ”Make-A-Move” a hands-on exhibit chronicling the history of how cars move and ”It’s Electrifying!” Presented by SMUD a historical look at alternative fuel and electric vehicles in California.
Vettes for Vets & American Muscle is sponsored by Performance Chevrolet.
The mission of the California Automobile Museum is to preserve, exhibit, and teach the story of the automobile and its influence on our lives.
